Wargame Analyst

Are you an analytical professional with experience in experimentation, wargaming, or operational analysis? We're looking for multiple candidates across three levels to support some of Australia's most complex Federal government decision-making and capability development activities.

These roles sit on the Support Services Panel and involve working directly with teams working on experimentation programs, analytical studies, force design, and strategic decision support.

The Roles

We're hiring across three levels:

Level 1 -- Analyst |Entry point for strong analytical minds. You'll support data collection, workshops, wargames, and exercises under general direction. Great for candidates building an analytical career.

Level 2 -- Senior Analyst | For practitioners who can work independently. You'll plan and deliver analytical work, apply methodologies like modelling and simulation or statistical analysis, and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.

Level 3 -- Principal Analyst | Senior leads with advanced qualifications in operations research, systems analysis, or applied mathematics. You'll scope complex problems, lead study programs, and brief senior APS decision-makers.

What You'll Bring

• Experience in APS experimentation, wargaming, operational analysis, or capability development
• Strong analytical and communication skills -- able to translate complex findings for technical and non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative methodologies (modelling, simulation, statistical analysis, decision analysis)
• Must hold, or have the ability to obtain, an NV1 security clearance
